Robie House

When designing a building, architects use a variety of drawings to communicate their ideas to clients and contractors. Elevation plans are scaled geometrical drawings that show the surface of a structure flattened to 2 dimensions.

Use lines, shapes, and patterns as you explore architectural elevations and complete a geometric design. Using only two-dimensional rectangles, participants will create their own elevation inspired by Robie House’s most prevalent shapes.
