Responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of planning, logistics, catering, and implementation of FLW Trust events including annual spring Wright Plus HouseWalk, annual Wright Night December benefit event, Autumn After Hours Friday evenings at Robie House, member and donor events, and all facility rentals. Works collaboratively with Trust staff and volunteers. Weekend and evening hours required.


  1. Ensure timely completion of all advance arrangements for Wright Plus/Ultimate Plus, work with volunteer Co-chairs and key staff to ensure smooth operation of the event. Attend advance planning meetings and post-event wrap-up meetings.
  2. Work with Communications department on creation of promotion, tickets, program and web pages, with Trust Merchandise Buyer on event products, and with Facilities staff on set-up/ break down, permits and street closings. Work with Wright Plus Co-chairs to coordinate event logistics.
  3. Participate in Ultimate Plus planning related to catering needs.
  4. Plan and execute six evenings at Robie House from mid-September through October. Arrangements with caterer, programming, marketing, and event oversight.
  5. Participate with Development department in December benefit event, Wright Night, planning, coordination of catering, set up, invitation guest list, and event execution.
  6. Handle bookings for facility rentals, coordination and oversight of these events. Update rental policies as needed.
  7. Work on preparations and implementation of member or donor events.
  8. Prepare and report event and facility rental budgets.
  9. Participate in and complete the first scheduled interpreter training program learning to lead public tours. Successfully pass a practice tour and be able to give tours of Trust house museums for facility rentals.


Outgoing and poised personality, well-organized with attention to detail. Experience with events and catering.Knowledge of Oak Park/River Forest area useful. Must be computer literate. Ability to travel to all Trust’s sites as required.


Administrative offices are located in a downtown historic building. Oak Park and Hyde Park Trust sites are located in multi-level work areas not accessible to the mobility impaired. Position requires frequent and regular computer and phone use as well as travel to off-site locations. Workplace is a smoke- and drug-free environment. Equal opportunity employer.
