Trust Educator

Work Summary:

Under the supervision of the Manager for Education, the Trust Educator will assist in the facilitation, development, and administration of K-12 educational programs. This role focuses on delivering engaging in-person youth tours and programming, on and off-site workshops, and virtual learning experiences. Additionally, this role will assist with teacher programming events and the ongoing carryout of the Trust’s mission and values.

Duties:

  • Facilitate in-person youth tours and camps, workshops, and virtual programs for K-12 audiences.
  • Assist in the development of programming, ensuring educational content is interactive, engaging, and aligned with learning objectives.
  • Support program logistics, including prepping for tours, managing workshop supply inventory, and assisting with field trip coordination when needed.
  • Contribute to outreach efforts, including administering social media accounts to promote Education programs.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of additional Education Department initiatives, including summer camps, Saturday Studio content, teacher professional development workshops, and special events.
  • Collaborate with program staff to maintain workshop supplies and ensure smooth facilitation of all Education offerings.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum one year experience working or volunteering with K-12 audiences in formal or informal educational settings.
  • Minimum two years of college-level courses in Education, Art History, Museum Studies, Fine Arts, History, or related field required; Bachelor’s degree desired.
  • Experience working in a museum environment is a plus.
  • Strong verbal communication and writing skills with the ability to adjust communication styles to accommodate audiences of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat a plus.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish desirable.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred, but ability to travel within Trust sites in the Oak Park/Chicago area is required.
  • Must be adaptable and able to work in a dynamic environment as part of a team, and available to work flexible hours, including some weekends.

Environment:
